THE program work
The Chinese Proficiency Test or Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK Test) is China’s national standardized test designed and developed to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers. It can be considered to be an equivalent of the TOEFL in English in the way it draws more and more foreign examinees.

COURSE OVERVIEW
HSK Test Preparation
15 or 30 Lessons / Week
Three 45 minute lessons
At Omeida you can choose the standard option of 15 lessons per week. Three classes per day.
These classes are either in the morning from 9:25-12 noon or from 2-4:35 pm.

Six 45 minute lessons
Six classes per day.
These classes are in the morning from 9:25-12 noon or from 2-4:35 pm.
The program can begin on any Monday.
We provide you with materials published from the HSK test administrators that are designed to provide you with insight of the exam content.
These materials include HSK workbooks that provide you with drills and exercises that fully encompass the possible material in the exam. Depending on your progress, we also administer HSK practice tests every 2 weeks to once a month.
This will help prep you for how to manage your time during the 90-120 minute exam, as well as give you a feel for how prepared you are for your current exam level.
For the HSK Test Course we usually offer a private class, maximum 2 students in a class.
This adds value to your time and will ensure you get the quality attention you need! We prioritize that you make the time most efficient to prepare for the test.
We only allow fully qualified teachers with degrees in teaching Chinese as a foreign language to guide you. We arrange teachers who are experienced in preparing students for all levels HSK test. If needed, our teacher will provide all necessary support to help students sign up for the test.
All our teachers have prior experience in teaching in order to help you learn Chinese in China. The key difference between us and other schools is that we guarantee that a professional teacher will teach you and not just a native speaker. Our staff are professionally trained in how to break-down the Intensive Course into easy-to-remember segments, therefore, the course will suit all skill levels, ages, and learning types. We do this to ensure you make rapid improvement and enjoy your classes at Omeida!
A bonus if you choose the intensive course load. We give you extra insight and perspective and help you learn faster, you will usually have two teachers, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
Teachers will devote lessons to HSK test preparation, which includes focus on vocabulary lists, grammar, and mock-tests. We will ensure you feel confident and ready by the time of your real exam.
We will place you in a class with other students at a similar level anywhere from beginner to proficient.
A placement test is given before starting your course in order to make sure you are placed at the correct level.
We will arrange a placement test a week before your scheduled arrival. This will be at a time of your convenience and usually through Skype.
Throughout your course, your teacher will make weekly evaluations on your progress and may periodically move you up to a new level.
You don’t need to be able to speak Chinese before you come, also no previous experience or qualifications necessary!
This HSK Test Program is open to anyone who is independent enough to take care of themselves in a different country. However, we require that if you are below the age of 12 you need an adult to accompany you.

Accommodation
Shared Twins Bedroom with a native Chinese roommate, so you can practice as much as possible out of class & make friends easily. 2-5 minutes walk from school.

Alternatively a private room is available for
100-250RMB extra per week
Meals
At Omeida we have a canteen where all the students enjoy a meal together. You will be invited to this as it is traditional for everyone to sit together at meal times.
We serve authentic Chinese meals from Monday to Friday, including vegetables, meat, rice and soup. Lunch is at 12pm and dinner is at 6pm. Alternatively, there are also many Western restaurants to choose from nearby in Yangshuo!
Textbooks
We will provide you with any tool necessary to achieve your study goals. This includes textbooks and learning materials.
The textbooks we provide you contain all the content we cover in class. You can keep the books afterwards so you can revise what you have learned.
This ensures you can gain confidence as well as peace of mind.
Language Partner
We offer you the amazing language partner service so you can practice your Mandarin after class (5:00-6:00 pm on weeknights). We offer this service at no extra cost to you, totally for free!
Language partner is usually arranged on the first Monday or Tuesday after arrival. Your language partner can show you around town to places such as the supermarket and West Street so that you know where to buy all the necessities. SIM card, dumplings, toilet paper etc.
A great way to immerse yourself in the culture right away!
Cultural Immersion
Twice a month, on Wednesday nights we have a very exciting Cultural Class, hosted by a different guest speaker every time. You will have the chance to learn about Chinese traditions or try some incredible food variations, calligraphy painting, traditional Chinese musical instruments, Tai Chi.
On Thursday evenings we have a social night where we connect with the students at the English school and take part in events like BBQ, cocktails nights, competitions, and games.
On Saturdays, we arrange fantastic outdoor trips to places like the tea plantations, sunrise viewpoints or rice fields!
Customized to your
HSK level
The HSK test is administered to 6 different levels, each numerically increasing in difficulty and measuring a higher degree of Chinese proficiency. Depending upon your starting Chinese proficiency, we will determine which test level you should work towards completing.
